Here's how to submit articles to Sculptorsvoice.com If you are a member of Tri State Sculptors and have created an account on sculptorsvoice or you already have one then you can submit your own articles. Details are later in this article. If you are not a member of TSS then you can submit articles by using the Contact form. Paste the contents of the article into the text box and it will be e-mailed to us. Details on how to submit if you have an account follow:
There are 4 steps to submitting a simple text article. 1 -- Log into Sculptorsvoice.com. If you don't have a username or password or are having trouble getting into the site then please use the contact button on the sculptorsvoice site to get in touch with someone. 2 -- Click on one of the menu buttons to submit an article. Don't worry if you don't know where your article should be. It can be moved from one category to another fairly easily. 3 -- Choose the category of your article and 4 -- Put the title and text of your article into the boxes. If you are using existing text (from a Word document, a web page, etc.. then for best results paste that text into Notepad before copy/pasting it into the sculptorsvoice article editor. You can format the text using standard word processing type buttons bold, italicize, underline, etc. and the link icon (looks like a little chain) can be used to make selected text into a link. If you need to remove formatting (if you pasted in directly from a Word document..) then select the text and click the little button that looks like an eraser. It removes the formatting.
4 -- Click the save button (it looks like a floppy disk). Your article will be approved by an editor within a day or two (or three.. we're volunteers..).
If you have images that go with your article then can either stop here and use the Contact form by clicking the Contact button on the main menu (on the left). You'll need to e-mail the images to someone and they'll upload the images and resize them for the article. OR Continue on .. and you can upload your own images. To upload an image while creating an article click on the little button with a picture of a tree (see below)
A popup window should open (if not then you're blocking popups and you need to allow them from the sculptorsvoice.com domain). On that popup you need to find and click the Browse button (see below)
Another window should pop up. On that window you need to set the Resource Type of the file you want to upload (in this case.. an image..)
Next click on the folder where you want the image to be placed
If you have more than one image.. or for other reasons.. you might want to use the Create New Folder button to add another folder for images. A nice folder structure is appreciated. For instance for this article I created a new folder named "how_to_post" in the tutorials folder. That way there aren't a load of unorganized images in the tutorials folder. Once you are in the folder where you want to upload the images.. click the Browse button (a different Browse button.. see below):
Browse to the image on your hard drive and choose it.. Then click the Upload button.
If the image is too large you'll get an error and you'll need to resize the image in an application like PhotoShop or Dreamweaver before uploading it. After the image has uploaded successfully you'll need to navigate back into the folder and click on the image. The upload window will close and the image will display in the Preview box on the Insert/edit image window.
If you want the image to have a border then click the Appearance tab
and you can set the border, the alignment, and other things. Once you've finished click the Insert button and the image will be inserted into your article. To edit the image after you've inserted it just select the image in the article and click the little tree button again. |
